The campus life at SSMU is known for its active and vibrant atmosphere, going beyond the lecture halls to foster holistic development. The university actively encourages students to engage in a wide array of student organizations and extracurricular pursuits, ensuring a well-rounded experience.

• Student Scientific Society (SSS): A central part of campus life for medical students is the Students and Young Researchers Society. This association encourages participation in research projects, allowing students to present their findings at annual conferences, often gaining recognition in All-Russian and international fora. This early involvement in scientific inquiry is crucial for their professional development.
• Cultural and Social Clubs: The university hosts numerous clubs and student organizations catering to diverse interests, promoting the formation of outstanding personalities and social collaboration. Students have the opportunity to participate in and organize various cultural and sporting events throughout the year, celebrating the multinational composition of the student body.
• Student Media: SSMU publishes its own media, including the university newspaper “Medicus” and a scientific practice magazine, which allows students to engage in journalism, share academic insights, and stay informed about campus happenings.
• Health and Wellness Focus: Promoting an active and healthy lifestyle is a priority. The campus features a dedicated Sports Complex with excellent facilities, including gyms, a swimming pool, and a sauna. Furthermore, the university maintains a sports camp on the Black Sea coast of the North Caucasus, which faculty and students use annually for recreation and rest.

SSMU provides highly structured and generally good residential facilities, prioritizing the safety, security, and comfort of its non-resident and foreign students. The university has four designated student dormitories (hostels) located conveniently close to the main academic buildings.

• Accommodation Types: The hostels offer shared living arrangements, typically providing triple-occupancy rooms in either a corridor-type or a sectional-type layout. In sectional hostels, multiple rooms share a washbasin and toilet within the section, offering a degree of privacy. For instance, Dormitory No. 4 is a sectional type with modern facilities, having undergone a major overhaul to ensure high standards of living.
• Essential Amenities: Each hostel is equipped with a range of shared facilities to meet daily needs. This includes common kitchens on each floor, often fitted with electric stoves, sinks, and kitchen furniture for students who wish to cook their meals. There are also laundry rooms and personal hygiene rooms available.
• Study and Recreation: Beyond living quarters, the hostels provide dedicated spaces for academic focus, such as study rooms for self-preparation. They also include rooms for organizing and holding events and recreation rooms, fostering a community atmosphere.
• Security and Support: Round-the-clock security is maintained in the dormitories, with surveillance cameras installed around the perimeter and security staff providing evening supervision. This robust security system ensures a safe living environment. The university also has a dedicated Faculty of Foreign Students and a preventive center located within one of the dormitories (Hostel No. 2), offering administrative and wellness support directly to the international community.
• Library and Digital Access: The extensive Scientific Library, which houses nearly 500,000 copies of books and periodicals, complements the hostel facilities. The library includes a specialized Internet Centre and high-speed Internet access (Wi-Fi) is widely available throughout the dormitories.
