About the University:
TSI, Transport and Telecommunication Institute – is a modern university of applied sciences with a centennial history. TSI – is the successor of the legendary RKIIGA (Riga Civil Aviation Engineers Institute) and RAU (Riga Aviation University).
In the present-day appearance TSI was established in 1999. Nowadays TSI – is the only private technical higher educational institution in Latvia. All study programs are provided in two languages – Latvian and English. TSI has received permanent accreditation in Latvia as a higher education institution.
TSI provides study programmes in the following directions: transport and logistics, aviation, computer sciences and networks, electronics and robotics, management and business. TSI is the only university in Latvia to provide specialisations in the field of AI (Artificial Intelligence).

TSI Sports Centre serves as a fulfilling environment for our students to stay active in their daily lives, therefore, a modern and well-equipped sports centre with a gym is just within a hand’s reach. You can even make sports a part of your academic journey by choosing it as an elective course! With a diverse range of activities, there’s something for everyone:
Game studio – movies, table tennis, board games, etc.
TSI is proud of its modern and well-equipped Sports center, which is equipped with the latest Life Fitness and Assault Fitness cardio machines. Working hours: 10:00 – 21:00.
TSI prioritizes creating an accessible environment for students with special needs, ensuring comfortable learning conditions and ease of movement throughout the university.
Parking for People with Special Needs
At least 5% of the total parking spaces are designated for people with special needs, with smooth, cleared surfaces. These parking spaces are located close to the building entrance.
Entrances
Glass doors feature clear visual markings at heights of 1500 mm and 300 mm.
Automatic doors open in both directions to provide easy and safe access. The width of door openings is at least 1200 mm.
A lift is installed at the entrance stairs, ensuring accessibility for students with special needs.
Entrance Hall and Corridors
The Entrance Hall is spacious, offering ample room for comfortable movement and meetings. Rest areas are provided for users to relax in a comfortable setting.
Signage with contrasting text is positioned at a convenient height (1300–1800 mm).
Elevator
Elevators are equipped with wide doors and spacious cabins, accessible to wheelchair users.
Elevators stop at floor level and feature tactile button markings, as well as audio signals in Latvian.
Restrooms
Specially equipped restrooms for people with special needs are located on the first and second floors, ensuring accessibility for all users.
Restroom cabins meet required dimensions: length – 2200 mm, width – 1600 mm, door – 900 mm.
Restrooms are fitted with support rails and contrasting flooring.
Classrooms and Learning Areas
At least 3% of seats in classrooms are adapted for students with special needs.
Classrooms are designed with easy and convenient access. Doors open at a minimum angle of 90 degrees, with a door width of 900 mm.
Educational Materials
Educational materials are available in digital formats (PDF, Word, PPT), ensuring compliance with inclusive education standards and the principles of information accessibility.
Accommodation:
Hotel “Janne” is located a 40-minute bus ride away from the “Transport and Telecommunication Institute”, but it will provide you with completely private housing in one of the hotel’s standard rooms or collaboration partner apartments.
The rooms and the apartments are furnished with simple, but beautiful and antique elements, providing everything you will need for living. By choosing hotel “Janne” housing services you will have a private bathroom with a shower, as well as a private kitchenette zone with a small refrigerator, microwave, kettle, and a primary set of dishes. Only the laundry room will be communal.
